Role Overview:
The FP&A Centre of Excellence (COE) exists to deliver quality insights and performance management that help the company deliver the Life Unlimited purpose to our stakeholders.
Within the COE, the International Business Unit Cluster FP&A Analyst role is responsible for providing high-quality decision support and insight to senior cluster leadership for a dedicated Business Unit within International Market
The position is accountable for core FP&A and partnering activities, built on the foundations of delivering the annual budget, forecasts and appraisal cycles. You will directly support your equivalent Finance Business Partner across all FP&A and many commercial activities. This role combines the need for strong process with heavy commercial elements, and the successful candidate will be able to represent the finance business partner across most commercial topics.
Outside the direct team, the role must work closely across Controllers & GBS to ensure end-to-end finance delivery to the management. Success in this role will require leveraging technology, a bias to establishing robust and documented processes, and having the resilience to work through standard processes maintained within the team.
Reporting to the FP&A Director – International Business Unit, you will be expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of FP&A and budgeting processes. You will also have a dotted line to your finance business partner and must ensure seamless delivery in a matrix organisation. You will role model genuine collaboration, enterprise-first thinking and a learning mindset – this is how you need and want to work every day. Flexibility will be required to balance and adjust priorities across shorter- and longer-term delivery requirements.
Whilst not a people leadership role, we are seeking a highly experienced advisor who can deliver in systems and be an engaged and credible partner – strong English and excellent communication skills are critical. Your scope will span from involvement in the full detail and analysis of your personal Business Unit Cluster accountability to higher-level stakeholder interactions and partneringPlease include specific internal and external relationships, product focus (if any), regulatory requirements, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and producing insightful reports that facilitate decision-making and highlight opportunities and risks.
- Driving and improving the regular performance appraisal and performance cycles, leading the presentation of financials to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Performing in-depth analysis to provide insight, identify and quantify opportunities or understand risks.
- Building understanding in the commercial teams of sales and pricing trends in the markets and supporting the business on tender preparation and return on investment analysis
- Supporting the FBP across the FP&A and commercial activities and ably representing finance in both finance and business conversations.
- Provide ad-hoc assistance with International and BU projects as required.
- Deliver financial support to various local functions within the Cluster.
- Contributing to executing and consolidating the budgeting, forecasting and actuals processes for your BU geography.
- Working with the Cluster FBP to deliver all short- and long-term financial targets. Monitoring and assessing progress against the financial targets established in annual budgets and strategic plans.
- Working with finance business partners to ensure rigorous, "joined-up" financial analysis behind all key decisions and projects and quality and consistency in the financial analysis presented to the management team.
- Digitalisation – drive efficiency and insight through the adoption and implementation of digital spanning visualisation, processing and analysis tools
Education: Educated to Degree level with Business/Finance/Accounting
Licenses/ Certifications: CPA/ACCA (preferred but not required)
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in commercial Finance/FP&A experience with full P/L support knowledge
- Prior Healthcare industry experience preferred
- Experience in supporting senior business leadership teams within an organisation and developing strategic plans, budgets and forecasts
- A working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), consolidation/BI systems/planning systems (specifically TM1 and Hyperion/HFM).
- Intermediate to advance excel knowledge and skills set to handle and manage data effectively and efficiently
