Description

Job Purpose :

To provide support for Patch management for Windows Operating Systems, servers and workstations.

The Engineer is responsible for:

  • Patch management: coordination, planning and tracking
  • Perform patching and updates on Windows Operating system via MECM or manual either for server or workstation
  • MECM Management : MECM infra management, schedule deployment
  • WSUS Management : download patch, schedule deployment
  • Audit Management: planning, remediation and tracking

• Obsolescence management : tracking

Patch management

 

·       Schedule monthly patch for non-prod and production servers (physical or vm)

·       Schedule monthly patch for workstations

·       Liaise with application team on the plan date

·       Follow up with application team on SIT/UAT sign off

·       Raise RFC for servers patching

·       Raise RFC for workstations patching

·       Deploy patch to server and workstation via MECM or manual

·       Update patch tracking report

·       Follow up and escalation

 

 

 

 

Servers and workstations are patched according to the patch baseline

 

MECM management

·       Manage MECM infra, 380+ servers nationwide

·       Manage and schedule patch and application deployment

·       Perform daily health check on MECM Primary and DP servers

·       Coverage : Servers and PC/Laptop

WSUS management

·       Download available patches

·       Manage schedule deployment

Microsoft patches are downloaded monthly

Audit management

 

·       Review audit report from Audit and Compliance team

·       Provide audit RFI (Request for Information) to Auditor

·       Perform audit remediation

·       Update audit tracking report

 

 

Servers and workstations are remediated to comply with IT Security policy

 

Obsolesces management

 

·       Track and report on hardware and operating system obsolesces

·       Ensure Product Line send reminder to application team on the obsolesces and to advise on upgrade plan

·       Ensure application team submit Technology Risk Exemption for server OS or hardware which not able to upgrade

·       Follow up and escalation

 

 

Obsolesces are tracked and reported to management in management meeting

Daily health check

4)  Qualifications & Competencies

 

Qualification

a.       Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Computer Science and Information Technology

b.       Good communication and interpersonal skills.

c.       Fresh grad encouraged to apply

 

Competencies 

 

·         Knowledge in Windows Server Operating System (OS clean up , Windows Updates and Patches)

·         Basic knowledge in Unix Operating System (Linux/Solaris/AIX) will be an advantage

·         Basic knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory (GPO settings, DNS,)

·         Knowledge in Servers Virtualization Concepts (Virtual Machines)

·         Knowledge with Windows patching tools (WSUS or MECM)

§  To ensure servers and workstations are patched according to baseline patch policy

§  To ensure servers and workstations are remediated according to IT Security policy
