The IT Test Manager will oversee and coordinate continuous testing efforts that support ongoing system enhancements, mini projects, and version upgrades for investment upstream systems and other key applications requiring investment upstream systems involvement.
This role is essential to ensure that enhancements and system changes are properly validated, business continuity is maintained, and the applications remain reliable, functional, and aligned with evolving business needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Consultant’s essential duties and responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Lead in Testing Strategy and Planning
• Plan, manage, administer, supervise, coordinate, and monitor testing activities
related to the upstream investment systems and other relevant testing activities
requiring upstream system involvement, ensuring all system functionalities work
as expected.
• Develop test strategies and activities; write, design, and execute test plans,
including the creation of test plan, test cases, scenarios, and detailed test scripts
for various testing types (e.g., functional testing, regression testing, performance
and stress testing, scalability testing, system integration testing, and user
acceptance testing).
• Define all testing activities in collaboration with the Customer’s vendor, project
manager, investment shared services team, system administration team, key
internal users, and business user managers.
• Recommend and control the testing scope, ensuring test scripts are well-defined,
executable, and completed within the project timeframe.
• Coordinate and prepare (where required) test data, whilst ensure test scripts and
test data are prepared and uploaded into the test tracker platform (automation
tools).
2. Lead in Testing Execution
• Manage, coordinate, and supervise upstream investment systems and other
relevant testing activities requiring upstream system involvement to meet the
testing requirements criteria from business user across all planned testing types.
• Ensure that testing execution confirms application functionality aligns with
business requirements and specifications.
• Track, report, monitor and follow up defects and bugs; compile and maintain
testing artifacts, results and statistics.
• Oversee the overall progress of testing activities, ensuring they are executed
within the agreed timeline, scope, and budget.
3. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
• Work closely with the Customer’s business user manager, vendors, and project
key stakeholders to:
o Understand project scope and business requirements to develop relevant
test cases.
o Review and validate test scenarios.
o Confirm readiness of testing environments.
o Investigate and resolve testing issues.
o Escalate issues promptly during the testing phase.
o Apply testing policies in alignment with the defined testing framework.
o Ensure project timelines and quality standards are met
• Conduct and/or where applicable to facilitate a walkthrough session to discuss
on testing scope, testing progress and provide feedback to relevant teams.
4. Reporting and Documentation
• Prepare and maintain documentation, including but not limited to:
o Compilation of variance and defect reports.
o Detailed and summary reports on test statistics and results.
o Test scope, test scripts and sign-off documentation for all testing types
based on relevant template
o Updated “To-Be” process documentation for screens and processes
tested.
• Coordinate the compilation and review of test variance reports and monitor the
progress of fixes.
5. Issues Resolution and Progress Monitoring
• Track and follow up on issues, variances, and bugs raised during testing to ensure
timely resolution.
• Collaborate with the Customer’s business analysts, testers, and developers to
investigate and resolve testing-related issues.
• Monitor the status of fixes and updates and communicate progress to
stakeholders.
6. Testing Quality Management
• Ensure that all testing activities and deliverables meet the Customer’s
departmental and project timelines.
• Uphold and ensure compliance with overall quality assurance standards.
Qualifications
1. Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in:
• Developing test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
• Preparing and loading test data and creating comprehensive test scenarios.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in designing and implementing test processes to
ensure technical and business expectation for SIT and UAT are met.
• Proven experience working with JIRA and manual testing approach
2. Technical & Domain Knowledge
• Solid understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Knowledge and exposure to managing testing activities related to investment
systems is an added advantage.
• Certification in testing (e.g., Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL)) is an added
advantage.
3. Tools & Technical Skills
• Proficient in using testing and defect tracking tools, including JIRA.
• Familiarity with test data management and test automation tools (if applicable).
