Job Purpose
To provide production technology support (production optimization, production test planning and interpretation, well and completion design, production enhancement and optimization, well reservoir and facilities management (WRFM), well and network modeling etc) to support SK433 activities
Key Accountabilities
To provide quality PT technical input to activities in
- WRFM team such as well integrity, surveillance, restoration and optimization of existing wells.
- Establish well operating envelope with knowledge in sand control.
- New well development team in completion design (tubing size selection, metallurgy, tubing and casing stress analysis), well integrity requirement, data acquisition and surveillance aspects for new well design while working with other disciplines.
- Support WRFM lead in opportunity maturation and interface with internal and external stakeholder for technical and budget approval.
- To provide technical assurance (when qualified to), for deliverables under PT discipline.
- Provide input and coordination to develop the annual business plan.
- Identify new opportunities for inflow and outflow enhancement.
- Manage well integrity and ensure surveillance and maintenance are completed according to performance standards. Where there is deviation, to diagnose, study, and review with the relevant stakeholder with the proposed mitigation.
- Provide coaching to junior staffs and support improvement initiatives.
Key Challenges
- Production Technologists (or Production Engineers as they are also known in some areas) play an essential and unique role by interfacing with and co-ordinating between Reservoir, Well, Surface Engineering and Production Operations.
- They are involved throughout the complete lifecycle of wells and fields. The Production Technology discipline participates in all phases of an asset’s lifecycle, from conceptual engineering input through design, build, commission, operate and abandon.
- The domain of the Production Technologist is from the sandface to the surface choke. Production Technologists unique areas of expertise cover modelling and optimising well inflow and outflow performance, conceptual well and completion design, design of well/reservoir interface (including sand management), Well, Reservoir and Facility Management (WRFM), including production system modelling and optimisation, and Well Integrity Management (including specification of the operating envelope for the well).
- Production Technologists are the production impact specialist - they should understand how to optimise production from the existing wells and the impact of completion/well intervention decisions on production performance over the life of the well.
- Production Technologists are at the centre of the oil and gas production business, working in day-to-day oil and gas production operations as well as in teams that prepare development plans to ensure optimal production from our future oil and gas fields, including the commissioning and start-up of our new oil and gas developments
