SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTIONS

·       Carry out task in accordance with the QC framework which includes establishing and tracking quality assurance metrics, build test plan, design and execute test cases with sufficient test coverage.

·       Responsible of timely completion of quality test within project timeline and free from defects and meeting company’s standards and procedures.

·       Meets the business and technical requirements that guided its design and development.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.        Identify deviance from standards and suggest modifications to ensure compliance.

2.        Ensure test procedures are well documented to ensure reusability and compliance with standards.

3.        Ensure software defects are documented using tracking system, and defects are to software development team.

4.        Responsibility for driving forward the company test strategy.

5.        Ensure that all testing is done in a systematic way; identifying and logging test failures; ensuring that all failures are re-tested.

6.        Perform Static Testing: Validate accuracy and completeness of requirements by using requirement document.

7.        Define and prepare the following documents:

a.        Requirement review checklist

b.        Requirement Traceability Matrix

c.        Test Scenario and Test Case

8.        Understand requirement and build the Test plan

9.        Build Test Plan, Test Scenarios, Test Cases and Test Data.

10.    Build, Update and execute all the testing type documented in the test plan such as smoke test, functional test, non-functional test, system test, integration test, end to end test, etc.

11.    Ensure handshake from SIT/QA to UAT: this activity includes sharing of Test Cases, Test Results and Defect Logs with the Biz users.

12.    Ensure regular Defect Triage meetings and Defect Reporting: These meetings are to discuss the critical and high impacting defects so as to prioritize and fix them.

13.    Consolidate & Analyze Metrics for all Test Phases.

14.    Perform Causal analysis of all defects raised during various types of testing, especially the escaped defects.

15.    Perform Test Phase Quality Review along with all impacted stakeholders.

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

·       Strong analytical and logical skills.

·       Experience with Agile and SDLC methodologies.

·       Effective time and work planning abilities.

·       Experience in test management and defect management.

·       Attention to detail with the ability to create clear and precise reports. Software QA engineers must be detail- oriented and know how to report on the results of any tests that they conduct.

·       Familiarity with testing tools such as SauceLab and Jira.

·       Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

·       Ability to work independently.

·       A minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in testing.

·       Knowledgeable in both General and Life insurance domains.

·       Experience in API testing with Postman / SoapUI.

·       Knowledge of SQL and querying of databases.

·       Defect Leakage, test cases effectiveness and deliverable / execution rate should meet minimum expectation.
